So although I promised a lot more posts it appears I didn’t quite deliver. It turns out I had enough energy to accomplish some tasks, just not enough to write about them. I thought I’d quickly share one of the things I managed to get done over the past few weeks, the deck. Our back deck was grimy and disgusting. It certainly hadn’t been cleaned since my husband bought the house, and my guess would be the previous owners hadn’t done it either. What a weekend! My husband had Friday off work, but my oldest still had school so I figured this was a great time to have a 3 day weekend for myself to get some things done around the house while my husband watched our little one. The deadline of friends seeing the house for the first time is looming near and much still needs to be done. I got off to a rip roaring start Friday morning by sleeping in until almost 11am. Pathetic, I know, but the opportunity doesn’t happen often and I seized it (as much as someone can seize something while unconscious). I spent the remainder of the day clearing off some furniture that had to be moved to different rooms. (It was a bigger job that it sounds. I recently became friends with a small group of ladies that live in/near my town. We get together every Wednesday night for a “girls’ night in” and it gives us a chance to chat about our week, random life stresses, and get to know each other better. It’s a new ritual but one I look forward to every week. It’s a fantastic break form the stay-at-home-mom monotony. Which is why I was upset when I found out that my husband is being sent out of town overnight for an upcoming event at his job, on a Wednesday. It’s never fun when he has to leave town as we’ve got a pretty good routine in place that involves a lot of teamwork, but now I would also lose my one real break in the week.
