Check out my most recent discovery, Phat Fiber. Phat Fiber is a mystery box of fancy yarns and yarn goodies. Here’s the deal as far as I can tell so far. Phat Fiber picks a theme for each month. Then their contributors send in samples that go along with that theme. These could be handspun yarn, handpainted yarn, handpainted roving, stitch markers, etc. Basically if someone who works with yarn might love it, it might be sent in. Then Phat Fiber divides these samples into individual boxes that fall into one of three categories. Fluff, for people who love roving. Stitches, for people who love yarn. So I’ve had a Pinterest account for months. I even had one back when you still had to be “invited” to join. I’d heard all the hype and people talking about spending hours at a time on the site and honestly, I didn’t get it. At. All. Over the months I’d tried it out a few times, but I still couldn’t imagine spending more than about 5 minutes browsing the site and even at that, it seemed like I’d never be on there enough to ever remember to do any of the things I’d “pinned”.
